Pelvic Floor Therapy for Bowel Issues.
Bowel symptoms are some of the least talked-about, most under-treated pelvic floor issues. If you are straining, dealing with chronic hemorrhoids, leaking gas or stool, or feeling pain with bowel movements, pelvic floor PT can help. It is discreet, evidence-based, and it works.
Bowel symptoms I treat.
Why bowel symptoms happen.
Bowel function depends on coordination between the pelvic floor muscles, abdominal pressure system, breath, and bowel mechanics. When any of these are out of sync, symptoms show up. Chronic straining, postpartum changes, surgery, hormonal shifts, and long-held compensation patterns are common contributors.
What to expect at your first visit.
Your first visit is 60 minutes. We talk through your symptoms, history, and goals. We assess movement, breath, and posture. A pelvic floor exam (internal or external) may be offered if it would meaningfully inform treatment, and only with your full consent. From there, we build a hands-on treatment plan, retrain bowel mechanics, and design a home program that fits your life. Most clients see meaningful change in 4 to 8 visits.
Why this practice for this problem.
Bowel symptoms can feel embarrassing to discuss. That is exactly why a private, one-on-one practice matters. You see Dr. Bethany Reuter every visit, in a private room, for a full hour. No rotating providers. Just expert care, delivered with discretion and respect.
Hi, I am Dr. Bethany Reuter.
“Enhance” isn't just a name, it's a philosophy rooted in neuroplasticity, the body and brain's remarkable ability to adapt, grow, and get stronger at any stage of life. This requires someone willing to look at the full picture: your history, your goals, your body as a whole, not just the condition that brought you through the door.
My mission is simple. Empower you to keep adapting, keep getting stronger, and keep doing the things that bring you joy, to the absolute fullest capacity.
That's why I'm here. I'm glad you found me.
